Fans of the popular first-person shooter Halo 4 will be pleased to learn that developer 343 Industries has confirmed it will release a brand new matchmaking update for the game on Monday, May 6.
The update will bring new Forge maps to the different playlists in the game's multiplayer and also add more changes.
"This coming Monday, we'll be adding quite a few maps into several existing playlists. These maps were showcased in our Community Forge Test and FFA Forge Test playlists, and have since been updated to provide new experiences across multiple game modes," notes Halo Waypoint.
Halo 4 launched in November 2012 and since the game's launch, 343 Industries has been active in constantly updating the game with new features and tweaks, as well as downloadable content both free (remember the Spartan Ops episodes) and paid (the recent Castle map pack).
Come May 6, Halo 4 is set to receive a new matchmaking update which is free. This update will add plenty of maps created by players in the Forge mode to the existing playlists.
Moreover, the new matchmaking update will eliminate the Grunt Birthday effect from Fiesta Classic in the Action Sack playlist, as well as fix the respawn point from the underground tunnel in Settler.
The Grifball settings will change following the application of the update to the correct community settings for Base Player Damage, Grif Damage Resistance, Grif Shield Multiplier and Suicide Penalty.

If that wasn't enough, the above additions are "just the beginning of playlist changes coming for the month of May and beyond" and 343 Industries plans to "introduce a little more Forge Island into your Matchmaking experience, as well add some new game modes to existing playlists" in the near future.
