Apple's Latest macOS Sierra 10.12.4 And iOS 10.3 Betas Roll Out To Developers

Apple released new beta updates to all its operating systems today. The tech giant has rolled out the third beta for both the MacOS 10.12.4 and the iOS 10.3 to developers.

This basically means developers with Apple's MacBooks, iPhones, iPads and even the iPod touch have the chance to test the latest MacOS Sierra and iOS betas. They will get to see the added and improved features of both operating systems before they are officially rolled out to the public.

One of the new features that the MacOS Sierra 10.2.4 will bring to Apple's laptop line is the Night Shift mode. The Night Shift feature was first seen in iPhones and iPads particularly with the iOS 9.3. Basically, the feature allows the display to change colors from blue to yellow allowing less exposure to blue light. While the change seems unimportant on the surface, this feature actually helps users tp sleep better. Blue light is suspected of causing sleeping patterns to be interrupted and the circadian rhythm to be disrupted.

The iOS 10.3 update comes with a number of new features including "Find My AirPods." As its name implies, the feature helps owners locate their AirPods in the event that they are lost or misplaced. The feature can tell when the earphone was last connected to an iOS device via Bluetooth. It also knows where its last location is. Even better, the Find My AirPods feature can play a sound on the lost earphone making it easier to locate it.

The iOS 10.3 beta also boasts of the new Apple File System which is optimized for USB or SSD storage. Other features included in the iOS 10.3 are improved CarPlay status bar, Safari support for Reduced Motion, and 3D Touch forecast for weather data in the Maps app among others.

Developers who have registered for the beta testing can download the update from the Apple Developer Center. The betas can also be downloaded over-the-air provided that the right configuration profile is installed.
