Pokemon GO Update: Special Pikachu Coming On Pokemon Day

Pokemon GO players are still fresh out from the launch of the Generation 2 Pokemon. Trainers are still busy being on the lookout and catching them all. However, looks like the challenge of catching them is going to be one small step difficult with the addition of new Pokemon for an upcoming event.

Pokemon GO Update: Special Pikachu

Pokemon GO is about to celebrate the anniversary of Pokemon Red and Green. The launch date of the first Pokemon game has always been a holiday for the series, dubbed as "Pokemon Day." Siliconera shares that on February 27. 2017, Pokemon GO will join the festivities by launching A special Pikachu.

From February 26 to March 9, 2017, trainers will get a chance to catch a special Pikachu in the wild. Each Pikachu the trainers will encounter will be wearing party hats. Party Hat Pikachu will be wearing hats in celebration of" Pokemon Day."

The Pikachu you will catch will be wearing the hat forever, so it will definitely be a good addition to players' Pokedex.

Pokemon GO Update: Other Festivities

The announcement of Party-hat Pikachu is yet to be announced by Niantic. Pokemon GO Informer reports that the announcement of the special Pikachu was made by the Pokemon Company.

Other Pokemon GO, other Pokemon related games and places will celebrate "Pokemon Day" as well. The Pokemon Trading Card Game Online will give players extra tokens for the games' Bonus Wheel for a week earlier than the actual event. They will also offer a special Daily Bonus Log-in in reward on the 27th of February. Pokemon Shuffle is going to have a two-year anniversary promotion. The Pokemon TV application and website will allow people to watch Pokemon 4ver Movie, Pokemon Zoroark: Master of Illusions, and The First Movie for free.

And lastly, the Pokemon Center is going to sell Eevee, Magikarp, Mew and of course, Pikachu Gallery Figures on the event.
