For an open world game, Horizon Zero Dawn truly set the standard for recent releases. It boasts high-quality visuals through outstanding graphical prowess put into the finest of details. It's one of the best looking games on the PS4 and PS4 Pro. All games are not without their cons however and these are the things everyone should know before they buy Horizon Zero Dawn.
Things Everyone Should Know About Horizon Zero Dawn
Although open-world action RPGs have been around, Horizon Zero Dawn is immediately one of the best out there. Aside from amazing graphics, a high-budget game from Guerrilla Games also offers superb sound quality and voice acting. Just like any open world, the player will spend most of their time in Horizon Zero Dawn exploring the world, meeting the locals and creatures, and gathering resources. Some games failed at this concept, (here's looking at you No Man's Sky) but Horizon Zero Dawn definitely did not.
The world itself in Horizon Zero Dawn is always alive. The creatures or giant mechanical dinosaurs have personalities of their own which mean each type of creature behaves a certain way depending on what kind they are. The story is amazing and the combat and atmosphere are top-notch.
Guerilla Games took the concept of open world RPG and made it even bigger and more ambitious. Horizon Zero Dawn revolves around the story of Aloy, how she deals with the post-apocalyptic world she lives in along with the different tribes in that world. The economy in the game focuses on hunting the mechanical creatures for their parts. These parts can be used to upgrade Aloy's weapons, but also to buy items depending on whatever Aloy needs.
Is Horizon Zero Dawn Worth It?
Past meets future in Horizon Zero Dawn, and it does so beautifully. Due to the apocalypse, humans went back to their primitive and savage ways, dividing themselves into tribes and going back to hunting to ensure their survival. But this is not all that can be done in the world of Horizon Zero Dawn. There are a lot of activities Aloy can do including several side quests and places to explore. Anyone who likes open-world actions RPGs will love Horizon Zero Dawn and would pay $60 for it easy.
