George Clooney Calls Trump 'Hollywood Elitist'

Academy-award winner George Clooney unleashed verbal tirades against U.S. President Donald Trump and his chief strategist, Steve Bannon. Joining the bandwagon of A-List Hollywood celebrities criticizing the new administration because of its controversial policies, Clooney branded Trump as a “Hollywood elitist” while he taunted Bannon for failing to make it as a film writer and director.

Trump's Screen Actors Guild Annual Pension Amounts To $120,000

The actor, an expectant father of twins to wife Amal Clooney, said that Trump collects about $120,000 annually through his membership in the Screen Actors Guild pension scheme. This, according to Clooney, gives Trump a “substantial sum each year.”

Clooney’s claims were similar to information obtained in a disclosure released by the president in 2015, where he claimed that he received $110,228 from the union. However, it was not defined if the amount is an annual fee or a combined total.

Trump In Box-Office Films

Prior to his election as US president, just during the time when his name emerged as a multi-billion dollar tycoon, Trump has appeared on small and big screens, which include cameos in “Home Alone 2,” to “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” Later, he became a household name after he hosted his own reality show, “The Apprentice.” In his two shows, “Apprentice” and the “Celebrity Apprentice” reportedly earned Trump $213.6m over the past decade, combined with his earnings as an eligible pensioner of the Screen Actors Guild.

Hillary’s Staunchest Ally

Clooney has publicly endorsed Hillary CIinton during the 2016 U.S. election. He also defended colleague Meryl Streep who was vocal in her sentiments against Trump. Last month, Streep criticized Trump’s policies during her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes. Clooney even recalled that Trump has 22 acting credits.

During the heat of the presidential campaign last year, Clooney made headlines when he said that there will be no President Donald Trump.
