‘Lethal Weapon' Renewed For Season 2; Fox Gives Series More Episodes

Fox has just announced that the reboot cop series, “Lethal Weapon” has been renewed for a second season. The new season has been slated to release 22 episodes, which is more episodes compared to the pilot season. “Lethal Weapon” will only be airing 18 episodes during its first season, which is currently still airing.

“Lethal Weapon” has been given another installment as Fox realized there are still more promising angles to explore. David Madden, president of Fox Entertainment, said that the said series continues to fire on all cylinders. He elaborated that the series continues to deliver a rollercoaster ride of fun every week but remains to be touchingly human and genuinely emotional because of the chemistry that was developed between the entire cast especially actors Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford.

“Lethal Weapon” stars Damon Wayans, Clayne Crawford, Jordana Brewster, Keesha Sharp, and Kevin Rahm. The said action series is the latest television production that Fox has renewed so far as “Lucifer”, “The Simpsons”, and “Empire” have already been greenlighted for new installments earlier. “Lethal Weapon” and “Lucifer” are produced by Warner Bros. Television and Fox has yet to decide whether or not the DC series, “Gotham”, which is also under the said studio, will be renewed for another season.

“Lethal Weapon” is a reboot series based on the classic action movie franchise of the same title starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. It is a comedy drama that relies on cop action, centering on two main characters, namely Roger Murtaugh and Martin Riggs. The series made its debut on Fox in September 2016 and its pilot episode is the most viewed episode so far, attracting a total of 11 million viewers. Though the ratings have gradually declined, “Lethal Weapon” still has a steady number of viewers and it has received mixed average reviews.
