Someone dropped the ball in allowing a billboard for the Nokia Lumia 928 to go up. Nokia hasn't officially announced this smartphone, but it has been rumored to be coming to Verizon in the U.S., and this billboard is the first visual confirmation that the smartphone is real and is coming to Verizon. The image of the Nokia Lumia 928 matches previously leaked images of this highly anticipated Windows Phone 8 flagship smartphone for Verizon.
As you can see in the image on the billboard, Nokia will in fact be promoting the Nokia Lumia 928's camera features. It bills the Nokia Lumia 928 as having the best low-light smartphone camera. The smartphone has been rumored to include an excellent camera with a Xenon flash and judging from the Lumia 928 on the billboard, the Xenon flash looks to be confirmed.
The latest rumored specs of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 are a 4.5-inch octaOLED 1280×768 display, Windows Phone 8, 32GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with Xenon and LED flash, f2.0 aperture, wireless charging out of the box and a 2000mAh battery.
The Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 is expected to share a similar design with Nokia's current flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 920, although the Nokia Lumia 928 is expected be lighter and thinner than Nokia's current flagship smartphone. The Lumia 928 is also expected to ship with an aluminum case, as opposed to the polycarbonate case Nokia has been using since it began releasing Windows Phone smartphones: a very welcome redesign.
We'll probably see Nokia Lumia 928 officially announced at Verizon's "Save The Date" event the carrier is holding on May 22. We'll be sure to bring you all the latest news as it happens. It's great to see a leak this big, literally.
