Samsung Galaxy Chat Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Now Rolling Out In India

Samsung is on a roll it seems as the Korean company has been pushing out Jelly Bean updates for quite a few of its Galaxy smartphones. The latest Samsung smartphone to get a taste of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update is the Galaxy Chat.

The Galaxy Chat GT-B5330 is now receiving the update to Android 4.1.2 in India.

"Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Chat (GT-B5330) in India," reports Fone Arena.

Samsung announced the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)-powered Galaxy Chat in July 2012 and the smartphone hit the Indian shelves two months later in September. The Galaxy Chat joins the ranks of Galaxy S Advance, which received the Jelly Bean update in India last week.

The update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is being pushed out over the air (OTA) and can also be downloaded via Samsung Kies. The base firmware number is B5330XXUBMD2 and the update is 322MB in size.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Chat brings several enhancements and new features users' way. Faster performance is ensured thanks to Project Butter. There's a new Nature UX, contextual search, better notifications and more.

The update brings enhancements to Isis Mobile wallet, VZ Navigator, Backup Assistant Plus, EAS email, Mobile Hotspot and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Galaxy Chat sports a 3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The device has 4GB of storage with the option to expand to a further 32GB via an SD card. The smartphone also has a 2-megapixel primary snapper and a VGA secondary camera. The Galaxy Chat is fueled by a 1200mAh battery which offers support for 14 hours and 40 minutes of talk time (2G).

The Galaxy Chat is available in India for Rs. 8,199 (approximately $152) in black and white options.
