Buddy Pokemon System is one of the effective ways to get an additional Pokemon Candy needed for evolution. Additionally, this feature will allow players to walk with any Pokemon they want. Meanwhile, similar to the mechanics in Egg Hatching, each Pokemon has a required distance before dropping a Candy. For instance, making Magikarp a Buddy Pokemon will require players to walk 1 KM before receiving a Magikarp Candy.
However, several players are currently wondering if there are any changes made to the top tier list now that Pokemon Go Gen 2 officially went live. Apparently, there are some minor changes which now add the generation 2 Pokemon to the list.
According to the report from Otakukart, Chansey takes over the top of the list since it holds the highest amount of HP stat among all existing Pokemon. Now that gen 2 is out, Chansey will be more formidable in gyms through its evolution Blissey.
Next on the list is Larvitar. Larvitar's evolution line is known as the gen 2's pseudo-legendary Pokemon which is similar to Dratini in gen 1. This dragon type Pokemon is also considered as one of the most reliable gym defenders in the game. Making the two abovementioned Pokemon will require players to walk 5 KM before receiving their respective candies.
Meanwhile, other 5 KM Buddy Pokemon which made it to the list are Eevee, Onix, Scyther, which occupies the 3rd, 4th and 5th spots respectively and Mareep on the 7th spot. Furthermore, the remaining spots on the list were occupied by decent Pokemon which only require 3 KM of a walk. These are Slowpoke, Totodile, Phanpy and Teddiursa, which takes the 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th spots.
Overall, this top tier list could possibly change over time since several players are still continuing to discover which Pokemon are more effective gym attackers and defenders in this current version.
