Niantic Announces New Pokemon GO Event!

It's no secret that fans have a love/hate relationship when it comes to playing Pokemon GO. Others tend to hate in a sense that Niantic hasn't been generous in introducing new features. Or perhaps, this was the story of the game in the past few months. While it's true that the hit mobile game app has gradually climbed the peak (once again), it can't be denied that fans want such momentum to be stabilized. Well, this is exactly what the studio is planning to do. How? By releasing a brand new event, that is.

According to Express, the studio is set to rekindle the fire that Pokemon GO once had through a brand new event. It's intended as a celebration for the so-called Pokemon Day where the popular Pikachu will take the spotlight. So for those who can never get enough of this cute little monster, this is the right time to show their love.

Basically, the new Pokemon GO event will commence from Feb. 26. It's scheduled to start at 1 PM PST, and will end on March 6 at 1 PM PST. This event will focus on the aforementioned Pokemon. Whenever players will encounter it in the wild, they'll see it wearing a festive hat. If they're successful in catching it, the said hat will be there -- forever.

It's worth noting that the Pokemon GO event will start ahead of time with Pokemon Day. The latter (which will take place on Feb. 27), in its most organic form, commemorates the release of the old Pokemon games back in Japan. The Pokemon Company is said to have prepared tons of exciting stuff. From marathons to in-game events to real-world competitions, this is definitely worth joining.

In related Pokemon GO news, the release of new monsters to the game resulted to the game reaching the top spot once again. It basically boosted the popularity of the mobile game. It should be noted that many were doubting the title's existence, as they believe it's nearing its end. But to the surprise of many, it has stood the test of time.
