Kyocera is a brand name that you'd recall when you have to see something unique in their phones. Not all of them, but some can easily be remembered like the washable smartphone from the company. Flip phones may have fallen out of favor in many parts of the globe, however, they're still popular in Japan, and so it's not quite surprising that a new model has popped up there.
The Torque X01 Covers 18 Military Standards
The latest one from Kyocera is called the Torque X01 and it is a feature phone with the flip design, but what makes it unique is its build. It boasts a very strong design that passes a bunch of military tests. Its extreme durability which covers 18 military standards set by the US Defense Department is beyond amazing. You can drop it on a concrete, you may use it in a dusty room and take it in the pool- the Kyocera Torque X01 can be able to withstand it all and more. The phone is made for the Japanese carrier KDDI Corp, where it'll offer subscribers a super durable flip-styled way to make calls and access a wide range of features.
The Torque X01 Features
The handset features a 3.4-inch display and boasts more practical features that are sure to be appreciated by those working out in the elements, like huge, embossed number keys for operation with gloves. It sports a 13-megapixel camera with Phase Detection auto focus. An FWVGA display for easy and handy viewing under direct sunlight, high-volume and dual front facing speakers are present to help alerts cut through the surrounding noise. For the specs, the X01 surely won't win any benchmarking tests with a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but thanks to its credit, Kyocera has equipped in LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. Assembled with a suite of outdoor-minded apps for weather, temperature, step counting, tide levels, barometric pressure, and, most curiously, determining the activity levels of aquatic life, the X01 is smarter than its clamshell design.
