Almost the end of the second month, 2017 might tell us something that will happen. Reports have come out after deep sea creatures such as oarfishes and globsters were washed Philippines shore recently. As per local citizens, this is a sign that something terrible might transpire soon.
The unknown and unusual creatures were found around different coastal areas in Southern provinces in the Philippines. The footage was released immediately, one by one on social media earlier this week. Since then, the images have gone viral on websites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake
What alarmed a lot of the locals is how they showed up a week after a magnitude 6.7 earthquake around the said area. A quake that struck Surigao City last February 10. Residents have been anxious about possible reverberations around the said province.
The fact that the creatures seemed to appear now has only highlighted this concern. Netizens claim that deep sea creatures can usually forecast disasters like land or sky animals do too. With several of them surfacing lately, this theory might just be true.
Deep Sea Creatures Have Been Tagged For 2017 End Of The World Predictions
A giant oarfish was first to appear in Carmen, Agusan del Norte. A second one was caught in Cagayan de Oro, specifically in Barangay Gusa. Both turned up last week and immediately caught the attention of people online.
Then recently, February 22, a footage showing a white and hairy sea creature went viral. It was found on the coast of Cagdainao in Dinagat Islands. A lot of netizens were terrified and alarmed due to its extraordinary and unfamiliar features.
Different Interpretations On Social Media
Some netizens said that the hairy-looking discovery is a globster. Wikipedia describes it as an unidentified organic mass that commonly washes up on ocean shorelines. Other individuals explained that the creature is simply a carcass of a dead whale.
The photos and videos raised different arguments around the social media. The majority claimed that these species from the bottom of the sea are sensitive enough to feel any disturbances near fault lines. As such, the sudden presence of the strange creatures could supposedly be proof of an upcoming disaster.
Many are alarmed that the events might be so big that it might cause a wide-scale disaster or such like "end of the world." Though, people are still advised to be wise before sharing alarming photos and warnings on social media. In the end, it is still best to wait for official declarations and reports from national and local authorities.
