2018 Ford Fiesta Shows Up Ahead Of Geneva Motor Show, Features Three-Cylinder EcoBoost

The latest Ford Fiesta ST is already here, ahead of the vehicle's official debut in March. This hot hatch is now more refined as it also gained more power. However, the big news in the latest ST is probably its 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine. Do note that this is the first 3-cylinder model from Ford Performance.

Ford Fiesta ST 2018 Details

According to Auto Blog, the car's new 1.5 liter EcoBoost has a twin-independent variable cam timing which improves the vehicle's power and efficiency. Additionally, the new Ford Fiesta ST also gets three dive modes. There's the Normal mode, Sport mode and Track mode. The Sport mode sharpens the engine mapping and its throttle pedal response. The Track mode on the other hand disables the traction control. It also gives the driver a longer leash through the stability control system.

As for the Ford Fiesta ST's model suspension and tire setup, the company hasn't given out any information yet. For the exterior design of the car, the Fiesta ST 2018 is still pretty much distinctly-Ford. The company seems to have decided to not fix what isn't broken. Overall, the profile looks the same. It's worth noting though that the surfaced photos are only for the three door model. Note that in the US, only the four-door variant is available while in Europe, drivers have more varieties when it comes to door number.
