Nokia Lumia 928 Confirmed With PureView, OIS and Carl Zeiss Camera Included

Well, that certainly didn't take long: first we saw a confirmation of the elusive Nokia Lumia 928 on a billboard before its official release, and now we have crystal-clear confirmation that the Nokia Lumia 928 is real, straight from Nokia's website.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is a very highly anticipated smartphone, and up until now Nokia has been extremely guarded about even mentioning the words "Lumia 928." During a televised interview, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, when asked about the Lumia 928, told the interviewer, "I don't know, because we haven't announced a Lumia 928." Nokia's CEO then threw the interviewer's iPhone off the stage, claiming he was waiting to get rid of his iPhone for a Nokia Lumia 928. Elop would not give any details or a possible release date for the Lumia 928; it was as if the device did not exist, or at least that was what he wanted us to believe.

The Nokia Lumia 928 most recently was leaked in a very big way, on a billboard. The billboard highlighted the Nokia Lumia 928 as the best low-light smartphone camera. We now know what the device actually looks like, since it's on Nokia's site.

Online information once again highlights the Nokia Lumia 928's camera features: "capture the highlights," while showing the Nokia Lumia 928's camera application. It is now believed that the Nokia Lumia 928 will ship with Nokia's PureView camera technology, an OIS and a Carl Zeiss camera. That is the reason Nokia is claiming that the Nokia Lumia 928 has the "best low-light camera smartphone camera."

The current specs of the Nokia Lumia 928 are expected to share a similar design with Nokia's current flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 920, although the Nokia Lumia 928 is expected be lighter and thinner than Nokia's current flagship smartphone. The Lumia 928 is also expected to ship with an aluminum case. The Lumia 928 will be available on Verizon and other carriers around the world.

Nokia will be holding a media event on May 14, where it is expected to announce the Nokia Lumia 928.
