Volvo Teases New XC60 SUV Ahead of Geneva Motor Show

Volvo's new XC60 SUV is set so be rivals to Audi's Q5 and BMW's X3. Today, according to reports, Volvo has teased the first-ever image of its upcoming XC60 ahead of its reveal. The SUV is expected to be unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show (GMS) on March 7. The single picture, which was released over the weekend, exposes the unmistakable "Thor’s Hammer" LED light signature used on all of the recent products of the Swedish multinational manufacturing company.

Volvo Teases New XC60 SUV

According to Motoring, Volvo has teased the all-new XC60 by releasing the first image of the SUV. The XC60 SUV is said to be based on a compressed version of the SPA platform which underpins both the S90 sedan and V90 wagon. Initial reports claimed that the SUV will have 2.0-liter turbo diesel with choices of 140kW or 173kW. However, as time goes by, a flagship T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid will be offered for the XC60 SUV and it will come with around 300kW.

The second generation XC60 SUV will also come with Volvo’s latest semi-autonomous cruise control. Meaning, it can steer, accelerate and brake automatically at speeds of up to 130km/h. Despite its scheduled sale later this year specifically in Europe, it’s not known when we’ll get the new XC60 in other areas such as Australia.

As reported by The Drive, the new XC60 SUV won’t be the only vehicle Volvo plans to launch this year. Also coming in Volvo's global line-up is an all-new mid-size S60 sedan, a V60 wagon, a smaller S40 as well as XC40 SUV. Volvo assures the fans that they will unveil more information regarding these cars at the GMS 2017.

The 5-seating 2017 Volvo XC60 ranks 11 out of 14 from the list of Luxury Compact SUVs. The 2017 Volvo XC60 provides a smooth ride, top-notch safety scores, fuel-efficient and powerful engine lineup. The instruction of the inside gives the passengers plenty of space as well as cargo. However, many of its rivals offer a much lower price, better reliability ratings and sportier looks as well as driving dynamics.

The 2017 Volvo XC60 is a good SUV in many ways, according to reviews. With regards to performance, it features two amply powerful engines that are more fuel-efficient compared to many others in the class.
