The latest episode of “Blue Exorcist” Season 2, which has been titled “Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga” has just been aired. It continues the adventures of Rin, Yukio, and the rest of the exorcists. This time it covers the scenarios when the protagonists have to go against the Impure King and another devious villain.
“Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga” episode 8 shows Rin and his friends heading to the mountain and later on found Head Master Tatsuma just in time. Tatsuma was barely alive but he was able to survive that long because his familiar, Karura healed his wounds. Tatsuma had to perform a barrier but his body could not take it any longer so Karura recommended that she pass on to his direct blood relative, which was his son, Ryuuji. After a tearful argument, Ryuuji welcomed Kakura’s powers and he and Rin went to fight the Impure King.
By the time they got to the heart of the miasma, the Impure King has already gotten so huge that it was as big as a castle. The only way to defeat the Impure King was to slice his heart, which is deep inside the sponge of miasma. While Rin and Ryuuji were finding ways to defeat the Impure King without blowing up the miasma otherwise thousands of residents in Kyoto will die, Kuro shows up to help them get to the heart.
On the other side of the huge yet still growing miasma of the Impure King, Yukio and the rest of the exorcists along with the priests are trying to fend it off with fire. While the others are busy, Yukio finds Todou and realizes the latter has acquired a new demon power that made him younger and stronger. Todou continues to taunt Yukio of his life and tries to break the young man’s will.
Yukio takes it personally as he remembers his father and his twin brother, Rin. “Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga” Episode 9 reveals that Yukio will have to muster the courage to realize that he is living a life he willingly chose and not one that was made for him because he had to protect Rin. If he overcomes this notion, the hateful ideas that were being instilled in him by Todou, then he may be able to defeat Todou. Meanwhile, Rin, Ryuuji, and Kuro are about to engage the Impure King and things are clearly going to get nasty but there’s no telling if they can defeat the demon.
