HTC launched its flagship smartphone, the HTC One, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event earlier this year and the company announced the handset in black and silver colors. However, the Taiwanese company mistakenly posted an image of a red HTC One on its website and a UK retailer started taking pre-orders of the red version of the handset.
"It seems that the red device wasn't just a smartphone myth and even better, it will be available in the UK. A listing spotted on retail site Handtec shows the HTC One in red available for the princely sum to £503.99 - however the company doesn't appear to actually have any in stock just yet," reports KnowYourMobile.
However, Handtec, the UK retailer was quick to remove the posting from its website.
The HTC One is currently available in Glacier White and Stealth Black, so a red variant of the handset will be welcomed by smartphone enthusiasts.
The HTC One sports top-end specifications and the flagship smartphone entices customers looking for a high-end handset. The smartphone has a 4.7-inch Super LCD 3 capacitive touchscreen display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
A 1.7 GHz quad core Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 processor powers the smartphones. The HTC One also touts a 2-UltraPixel rear-facing camera. The HTC One also has 2GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G, high speed HSPA+, micro USB and a 2,300 mAh battery. The handset weighs 5.41 x 2.69 x 0.37 inches and weighs 5.04 ounces.
The specifications of the HTC One are impressive enough to compete with any other handset in its category, including the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S4.
If the red HTC One makes its appearance soon, will you want to buy it?
