NASA just discovered seven new Earth-like planets recently. In line with this discovery, Elite: Dangerous will be updated to what has been discovered by the space agency. Frontier Development will give the players the chance to get a glimpse of what is coming to the game.
Coincedence Or Not?
Some might think it's a coincedence that Elite: Dangerous will release an update 2.3, also called as The Commander, with new exoplanets outside the Milky Way Galaxy. With the help of the game's Stellar Forge engine, players have the chance to orbit with the ewly discovered planets.
According to Kotaku, the planets are very similar with what NASA has discovered. However, if others are thinking the Frontier copied what the lab has found, then they are wrong because the update is set to be released on the upcoming beta tomorrow.
David Brabe, Frontier Developments' director, explained that The Commander or update 2.3 will only have a small effect in Elite: Dangerous. What the players should be excited about is their chance to orbit 39 light years far from Earth.
Elite: Dangerous Has Stellar Forge
The TRAPPIST-1 is also located in the same coordinates as the seven exoplanets are, as per PCGamer. Frontier managed to add the new planets in Elite: Dangerous because of the Stellar Forge.
The Stellar Forge also discovered the Brown Dwarf, almost the same size as the M8. Other than the discoveries, the developers managed to locate several moons and some of co-orbiting binary pairs that will be part of the update.
Players will be roaming around the galactic world of Elte: Dangerous to discover and to find possible alien life forms.
