AT&T Planning To Launch Two New Unlimited Plans, Plus And Choice

AT&T will be rolling out two new unlimited plans this week (most likely on Thursday) that will address some of its competitive deficiencies against Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. The two new unlimited plans are Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Choice. With that being said, here is the full breakdown and comparison between the two new unlimited plans.

The Entertainment

For this category, the Unlimited Plus offers a $25 monthly video credit that includes DIRECTTV, DIRECTTV Now and U-verse TV. On the other hand, the Unlimited Choice does not offer anything.

The Video

For this category, the Unlimited Plus offers HD when available and the Stream Saver turned off. As for the Unlimited Choice plan, it offers SD (480p) and video streaming at a maximum of 1.5 Mbps.

The Mobile Tethering

For this category, the Unlimited Plus offers 10 GB per line and after 10 GB it will be slowed to 128 kbps. Meanwhile, the Unlimited Choice plan has nothing to offer on this particular category.

The Network Speed

For this part, the Unlimited Plus offers 4G LTE, which is apparently the fastest speed. As for the Unlimited Choice plan, it only offers 3 Mbps max speed.

The Pricing Per Line For Smartphones

For one smartphone, the Unlimited Plus costs $90 while the Unlimited Choice costs $60. For two smartphones, the Unlimited Plus costs $145 and $115 for the Unlimited Choice. For three smartphones, the Unlimited Plus costs $165 while its counterpart, the Unlimited Choice, costs $135. For four smartphones, Unlimited Plus costs $185 while the Unlimited Choice costs $155. Lastly for five to ten smartphones, it is +$20 each on both unlimited plans.

The Pricing Per Line For Other Devices

For tablets, wireless home phone and hotspot, both unlimited plans offer +$20. As for the select wearables (watches), both unlimited plans offer +$10.

Other Information About The Two New Plans

First rule is credit starts within three bills. Exclusions and restrictions apply. Second rule, pricing after $5 (single lines) or $10 (multi-line) discount on plan charge for AutoPay (credit card excluded) and Paperless bill. Discount starts within two bills while taxes and other changes apply.

The third rule is for businesses where business customers get a $10 group discount. However, businesses are not eligible for the $25 per month video credit. AutoPay is also not required.
