New 'Nokia 3310' Is Just About The Name, Way Different From Original Model

Though it was heavily judged as the worst kept secret ahead of Mobile World Congress 2017, the up and coming Nokia 3310 was already introduced to the general public. Though details have been few about it, the important ones were already laid out.

The New Nokia 3310 2017 Version

During the Nokia/ HMD Global launch event in Barcelona on Sunday evening Arto Nummela, CEO of HMD Global, unveiled the new Nokia 3310. It is an updated version of the classic Nokia 3310 back in the days, full of nostalgic features that pretty much resembles the old 3310 phone, with the only difference is it having some quirky new features like a 2MP camera at the back and a colored screen.

A Look Back At the Old Nokia 3310

According to Gadgets 360, Nokia phones back in the day were formidably built like a tank, and no phone epitomized that better than the iconic Nokia 3310. The old phone could survive drop tests that would definitely put modern smartphones to shame. The up and coming Nokia device has been hugely touted to be the very same as its predecessor, but some experts are having doubts.

Doubts With The New 3310

With a new manufacturer, as well as the consideration of the new trends of phones nowadays, a lot of people are having doubts that the phone would ever be the same with the "tanky" 3310 of the old. But since there has been no proper review and showcase of the phone, many analysts suggest that people should take any update regarding the phone with a grain of salt, at least up until MWC 2017.

Will The New 3310 Succeed?

According to Today Online, while HMD Global might be a new company, it's pretty much clear that it knows how to market a product, judging by how they marketed the new 3310. If the Nokia 3310 2017 had released under any other name, it would have been a non-event.

Instead, it looks like a pretty standard, and somehow overpriced feature phone will turn out to be the biggest highlight of MWC 2017. Nokia is back, and time will be the only challenge for us knowing more about their latest phone.
