Britney Spears is now in her 30s and is a mother of two, with a notoriously serious predilection for deep-fried Southern soul food. The fact that the darling diva with a tempestuous back story has shot back out onto the scene looking better than ever means it's time to dish on how she does it.
Spears will appear on the cover of the June issue of Shape Magazine, in which she shows off her toned abs, and tells how she intends to keep them and what we can all do to get in shape ourselves, just in time for summer.
According to an analysis by OMG! published on Wednesday, May 8, Spears says one of the toughest parts to maintain is her rear end.
"I like it, then again, I hate it," Spears says. "I'm in my 30s now, so I have to work harder to keep it 'up.' "
Spears, who is prepping for an upcoming stint of alternating weekend performances at Planet Hollywood's PH Live in Las Vegas, keeps to one rigorous regimen of conditioning, she reveals.
"I'm doing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week in addition to a lot of cardio — hour-long sessions three times a week with my trainer, Tony Martinez," Spears said.
Spears sees the Vegas performances as a "massive party from start to finish" and she knows that, in order to keep up, she'll have to run at top speed in prime condition. This means, of course, she's been keeping up a steady, strict diet, as well.
"Dieting is tough," Spears said, adding that "because my specialties are spaghetti, brownies and chocolate chip cookies. I try not to make those too often." It's sage advice for those who are looking to burn off excess weight before bikini season is here. Spears also says that she's learned not to "eat the whole bowl of dough," which seems in concert with conventional dietary wisdom, as well as her non- brownie/cookie/spaghetti routine.
For those seeking more specifics on how Spears keeps her body looking so "spear-ited," she also touts the Nutrisystem weight loss program, including drinking one shake for breakfast and lunch, followed by a dinner of protein and veggies.
Then again, being an acolyte of the Nutrisystem program didn't seem to stop Spears from chowing down on some Kentucky Fried Chicken and sides; Spears was caught in the act shortly after the Shape shoot.
