Empire Polo Grounds is in the production of a huge stage to bring up singers in highlight. As per Billboard, Lady Gaga will headline both weekends of Coachella, changing Beyoncé, who put off her concert after announcing she was pregnant with twins.
Gaga will fill in for Beyoncé on two successive Saturday nights (April 15 and 22) at Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Calif. Officials with organizers Goldenvoice and AEG Live are completing its plans to bring up Gaga's huge stage production to Coachella and will make the announcement in the coming days, say sources.
Beyoncé Will Instead Perform Next Coachella in 2018
The big-name switch comes just five days after an appointee for Beyoncé informed AEG's Goldenvoice that the "Don't Hurt Yourself" singer would not be performing at North America's highest-grossing annual festivity based on her doctor's advice; Beyoncé could have been in the third trimester of her pregnancy during the double-weekend billing. Instead, Beyoncé will perform at the upcoming Coachella in 2018.
Lady Gaga will add the two Coachella slot to her, by now, very busy 2017 tour schedule, announced shortly after her acclaimed performance at Super Bowl LI in Houston. Gaga's Joanne World Tour buzzes starts Aug. 1 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C., and consist of three nights at the Forum in Los Angeles as well as stops over at iconic stadiums like Wrigley Field in Chicago, Citi Field in New York, and Fenway Park in Boston.
Gaga Is Perfect To This Event
It was vital to Coachella coordinators that a veteran on a huge crowd replace a female performer, insiders tell Billboard, making Gaga the first woman to headline Coachella since Björk way back 2007.
Lady Gaga will be joining some well-known artist at Coachella. Headliners list will include Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar, as well as the XX, Bon Iver, Future, Lorde, and Justice. The festival kick starts on April 14-16 and April 21-23.
