3 Major Pokemon GO Updates Announced, Details Revealed

Just recently, Niantic added a new set of pocket monsters to Pokemon GO. These are basically the second generation Pokemon, also known as Gen 2. Although a couple of features were included, the ones that players have hoped for have yet to arrive. However, the studio finally confirmed that within the year, the game will receive a total of three major updates.

Sometime this month, the company's very own CEO, John Hanke, iterated that Pokemon GO will receive two features. These are namely the Trading System and the PvP Battle System. Since then, though, nothing specifics were unveiled. As a result, players are once again wondering if the studio indeed plans to unleash them or not.

Fortunately, as reported by BGR, Hanke finally shed some light regarding the aforementioned Pokemon GO features. In a keynote event held in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, he confirmed that three major updates will arrive to the game this year. Obviously, these will all be an addition to the second generation Pokemon that the company earlier introduced.

However, same with what they did in the past, the Pokemon GO developer didn't give out any specifics. Nothing in detail was unveiled regarding what sort of stuff the forthcoming updates will contain. As speculated by most enthusiasts, this could possibly refer to the Trading System and the PvP Battle System. But what about the other one? Many believe that it's going to be some sort of a re-constructed gym system.

Forbes, on the other hand, reports that the arrival of Pokemon GO Gen 2 has somehow helped the game reach a certain peak. One, it did result in a significant spike in the player pool of the title. Unfortunately, those numbers are beginning to decrease. This could only mean that the fandom are indeed interested in contents and/or expansion. However, with no decent follow-up or whatsoever, this shift in momentum is quite inevitable.
