Xiaomi is rolling out its latest MIUI update for the Mi Mix and Mi Note 2 as announced some days ago. The MIUI 8.2 stable ROM will also be available for the Mi 5 soon.
The latest MIUI 8.2 update provides solutions to a number of issues regarding its interface. Among the new and improved features aimed at providing MIUI users with a better experience are a new smart desktop assistant, new system sounds and ringtones, an automatic task management, and a new version of the notification bar switch interface.
GSM Arena adds that the improved Notification's shade can now host the battery saver toggle among other toggles thanks to its improved layout. The MIUI 8.2 ROM also allows users to swipe to delete Lockscreen notifications and prevents floating notifications from appearing when the device is in DND (Do Not Disturb) mode. The update also allows UI adjustments for toggles, adds the Home screen setting to the Settings while antivirus scans for the apps are no longer installed from Google Play.
Xiaomi has already upgraded Mi 5S, Mi 5S Plus, Redmi Note 3 and most of the older smartphone in the Mi and Remi family. In fact, Xiaomi Today reports that a total of 24 Xiaomi devices will receive the MIUI 8.2 update. Among the Mi lineup, the devices that will be upgraded are the Mi 2 and Mi 2S, the Mi 3, Mi 3 Unicom/Telecom, Mi 4 Unicom/Telecom, Mi 4 Telecom 4G, Mi Note, Mi Note Top Version, Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi Max Standard, and Mi Max High Version. The MIUI 8.2 stable RM will also roll out for Redmi devices such as the Redmi 1S Unicom/Telecom, Redmi Note, Redmi Note Unicom, Redmi Note 4G single card, Redmi Note 4G dual card, Redmi 2 Standard, and Redmi 2 Unicom Standard/Telecom Standard.
Aside from having its own operating system, Xiaomi is also planning to manufacture processors. As a matter of fact, its "Pinecone"-codenamed chipset is expected to be used in the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5C.
