The Samsung Galaxy Camera, which was released in 2012, is set to get an update to Android 4.1.2. Subscribers on AT&T will be delighted to learn that the carrier is pushing out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for its variant of the Galaxy Camera per reports.

The new build number is GC100UCAMD4 and weighs 190MB. The update brings several enhancements and stability fixes users' way. However, the changelog for the firmware is currently not available.

"It appears AT&T and Samsung are teaming up to push out Android 4.1.2 to the Galaxy Camera this week. The new build number is GC100UCAMD4 and brings a few stability fixes and other camera firmware enhancements," reports Droid-Life.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Camera is available over the air (OTA) and can also be updated via Samsung Kies.

With the release of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on AT&T, users of the Samsung Galaxy Camera on other carriers will also be hoping to get the software update soon. However, there is no word from other carriers about the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean roll out.

The Galaxy Camera sports a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD touchscreen with 1280 x 720 resolution. The camera also touts a 21x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 23-483mm on a conventional 35mm camera), and a super-bright 16.3-megapixel backside illuminated CMOS sensor. The Galaxy Camera weighs 300gms and measures 70.8 x 128.7 x 19.1mm, which does not make it too big by compact camera standards.

The Android-powered Galaxy Camera is fueled by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor. It packs in 1GB of RAM and 3.87GB of on-board storage, with the option to expand the memory to an additional 64GB via a microSD card. A 1650mAh battery powers the camera.

At this juncture, it is unknown what exactly the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is going to deliver to the Galaxy Camera on AT&T; however, it is likely that the changelog will reflect new shooting modes. If the update brings features like Remote Viewfinder to the table then Galaxy Camera users will have much to look forward to.
