In a report, the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division, Sexual Assault section confirmed that they are "investigating concerning the actor Danny Masterson. Three women have come forward and disclosed that they were sexually abused by Masterson during the early 2000s." Authorities did not yet provide any further details regarding the case.
Defendant: Just A False Accusation
Masterson's rep called it "false allegations" in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, adding that the accusations were dated back 14 to 16 years ago. The rep also claimed that actress Leah Remini comes up with allegations. Both Masterson and Remini were Scientologists before the actress' departed high-profile career for Church of Scientology.
The Second Accuser
One of the three women is an ex-girlfriend, and the alleged event "happened in the middle of their six-year relationship, after which he confirmed it to be his longtime girlfriend," Masterson's reps said.
"We are aware of [the alleged victim] 16-year-old allegations. It was only after [the alleged victim] was in contact with Leah Remini that she made claims of sexual harassment by Mr. Masterson," the actor's reps continued.
Third Alleged Victim
Another alleged victim accused Masterson of sexually assaulting her during a party at the actor's house way back 2003.
Police revealed their investigation into Masterson's sexual assault allegations hours after Tony Ortega's Scientology watchdog site Underground Bunker posted about the incidents and a succeeding, "bungled" LAPD investigation including Masterson in the early 2000s.
The site also referred to a Church of Scientology conspiracy, with eyewitnesses and even victims pressured into remaining quiet or providing inconsistent testimony. The LAPD did not comment on those claims.
Masterson's rep said that the Church of Scientology told them that the only reason that the accuser made of the Church after the couple's breakup was to seek their help "to intervene so the breakup would not be permanent."
