Social media did it again. Images showing Emma Stone as Batgirl goes viral. Fan artwork starts circulating just after the actress' Oscars win for the film "La La Land". While still not included in her list of confirmed upcoming movies, fans cannot help but hope for the best.
As per report about the role by MovieWeb, the Batman character is likely to debut in DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU). This will supposedly be via the "Suicide Squad" spin-off film titled "Gotham City Sirens".
'Gotham City Sirens'
While the prequel is intended to give emphasis on Harley Quinn, Batgirl will definitely take "Gotham City Sirens" story to a whole different level. This is with Hollywood's new-found respect for Emma Stone following her Oscars victory last February 26. She took the Best Actress Academy Award for her lead role in the film "La La Land".
First images Of Emma Stone As Batgirl
With the 28-year-old movie star's uprising career, some wondered how she would look like as Batgirl. Graphic artist Boss Logic addressed this by coming out with simulations of her in the fictional character's costume. The fan-art quickly became viral.
Though, the artist said in the caption that he prefers Stone to be in Marvel Universe together with Brie Larson, who she was spotted with during the Academy Awards. Even so, the Batgirl fan-made sketch got mostly positive feedback. Netizens said that the "epic" role would fit the former "Malcolm in the Middle" cast member.
Other Confirmed Movies
Now, fans must wait for the confirmation before believing the casting rumors. Both "Gotham City Sirens" and "Batgirl" were not yet included in the most recent list of Emma Stone's upcoming movies. Among the next projects listed by E! News include the sports-oriented drama "Battle of the Sexes". Her role as tennis legend Billie Jean King has already fired rumors of another Best Actress nomination.
Aside from the biography, another upcoming Emma Stone starrer is the movie "Cruella". "The 101 Dalmatians" reboot will tell the never heard story on the infamous fur-loving villainess. It will reportedly be like how Disney did "Maleficent" in 2014.
