PlayStation 4’s 4.5 Update Out Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the big release for the PlayStation 4’s 4.5 update, which will bring a number of new features as well as a huge benefit to all PlayStation 4 Pro owners. The update will also improve the 2D performance of the PlayStation VR when the user is playing standard games using the headset. The resolution quality for the VR's cinematic mode is said to jump from 90 Hz to 120 HZ if the screen size is set to small or medium.
As the gamer, you will also be able to use voice chat when using the service of the remote play on Windows PC, Mac and Xperia devices. According to GameSpot, the voice chat can be toggled on or off by clicking the microphone icon located on the toolbar. However, the most awaited and the biggest update is the “Boost Mode” for the Sony PS4 Pro, which enhances performance on most games
PlayStation 4 New ‘Boost Mode’ Feature
According to Polygon, the "Boost Mode" for PS4 Pro aims to improve the quality as well as the performance of games that have not been covered to support the PS4 Pro. "This can provide a noticeable frame rate boost to some games with variable frame rates, and can provide frame rate stability for games that are programmed to run at 30 Hz or 60 Hz," Sony explained.
However, the new Boost Mode feature is "not guaranteed to work with all titles," according to the blog spot Sony posted. In addition to that, the setting can also be turned off so that the experience of the user is that of a standard such as in PS4. Depending on the game you are playing, the increased in the speed of CPU may also result in shorter load times. In order to address it, turn on the Boost Mode manually by going to Settings then select System option.
