Tommy Hilfiger Parent Company To Offer Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatches

Movado has just announced its partnership with Google as the former prepares to launch its very own smartwatch collection. This company is behind the popular brands such as Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger. According to the announcement, Movado's upcoming collection will be called Movado Connect.

As per Phone Arena, Movado Connect will be officially revealed at the Baselworld 2017. This event is a major trade show for the watch and jewelry industry and is set to start March 23rd. More details about Movado's plans will be unveiled at the said event.

As per Movado's announcement, the smartwatch collection that the company will launch will be powered by Google's latest platform, the Android Wear 2.0. It will then get released by fall of 2017. Five men watches will be introduced and the price will start at $495. Availability details indicate that the Movado Connect collection will be available in US, Canada, UK and the Caribbean. Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss-specific smartwatches will also launch in fall.

Movado Group's Chairman and CEO Efraim Grinberg said that the launch of Movado Connect indicates a new milestone in the company's longstanding history of innovation and creativity. As per 9to5Google's report, Grinberg also said that they are very proud of their collaboration with Google and for being able to provide their user-base with quality-designed watches that are powered by cutting-edge technologies. He describes Movado Connect to be "iconically Movado".

David Singleton, VP of Android Engineering, said that they are likewise thrilled to work with Movado. He said that with the two companies' expertise in watchmaking, software, and design, Movado and Google will be able to create beautiful and functional timepieces that will help people in their everyday lives. It was said that Movado Connect will feature the company's iconic Museum dial and will include 3-4 customizable elements. This includes backgrounds and watch hands among others, and will allow users to customize their timepieces to their desired look.
