The Nokia 3310 is already official and the phone is just awaiting its release in different markets. While it may seem that this Nokia device was just interesting during its launch day, UK's Carphone proves otherwise. Apparently, the Nokia 3310 has received an overwhelming response from the people, proving that there is an actual demand for the nostalgic phone.
As per Neowin, Carphone Warehouse's Andrew Wilson said that the retailer has seen an astonishing surge of interest in the N3310. He said that a number of pre-registrations that the phone has received proves that the Nokia 3310 isn't "all hype" and people actually wants to get their hands on it.
While the new edition, Nokia phone doesn't offer cutting edge technology with its simple interface, it does carry the name of the once leader of mobile phones. This, alongside its affordable price of around $52, might have been the reasons why it became a big hit to the consumers. For those who are unaware, the Nokia 3310 comes with a modest 2.4-inch QVGA colored display and a 2 MP camera. There's also a microSD slot but the apps and games for the phone are expectedly limited. It does, however, have the iconic Snake game that Nokia has been known for.
As for the UK availability of the new Nokia 3310, GSM Arena said that the phone could come to the country this May. There are not many details about the N3310 at this point but it has already been established that Carphone will be the exclusive seller of the phone's higher-end sibling, the Nokia 6. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 on the other hand, are also entering UK's smartphone market. However, they will not be exclusive to the said retailer. Interested Nokia buyers from the UK should check out Carphone's Warehouse website for details, updates, and registrations.
