V-Moda, a company that has built its name on producing quality headphones, is gearing up to take on a new challenge. The company just unveiled its Remix Bluetooth speaker, which gives the standard device a fun new refresh. Staying true to its branding, a built-in headphone amplifier differentiates the new unit from its competition.
As C|Net pointed out, the industry of Bluetooth speakers is already a little saturated. As such, the only way to really stand out is to offer something new, whether in features or design. V-Moda has taken on the challenge and is currently receiving positive opinions. As the publication quoted the description, it is the "first 3D-Printed fully faceted custom product with hi-fi sound quality." But another unique feature is that it has a built-in headphone amp.
The V-Moda Remix Bluetooth speaker comes in two finishes. Interested individuals will have a choice between an aluminum casing and a vegan leather one. Each unit will cost about US$300, which is relatively pricey considering the competition. But as Gizmodo explained, the headphone amplifier provides power that not all units do.
The publication used the Remix with the Sennheiser HD 598 headphones and the MacBook Pro. The V-Moda device evidently enhanced the listening experience significantly. The sound becomes crisper and the layers of instrumentation are clearer as well. But as the standard Bluetooth speaker, it works as well. The music is not overpowering and works well even at low volumes. However, it can also fill up an entire room when the volume is turned up.
The choice to expand the company's product line stems from its belief that it was time to make changes. Val Kolton, V-Moda's CEO, explained that it was time to evolve after it had already mastered headphones. "We already had our innovative headphones with their world-renowned sound, materials, and personalization," he said. "Why can't a speaker achieve the same goals and excel at the same vision?"
