‘Game Of Thrones' Creators Hint Spin-Off Series

With “Game of Thrones” Season 7's premiere is just a few months away, it’s certain that the hype cannot be contained. Fans are seeking for updates here and there to relieve the long wait. Just recently, the showrunners of the said HBO series has just revealed that the network is looking into making a “Game of Thrones” spin-off.

“Game of Thrones” Spin-Off Might Happen

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 is just right around the corner. The creators of the hit tv series revealed that a spin-off series might happen, and this could mean another thing to look forward to. HBO executive, Casey Bloys, already said back in January that HBO would be foolish if they do not explore the possibility of a spin-off series. “Game of Thrones” creator David Benioff added that HBO might as well do one.

Bloys has already shown interest in a spin-off series, but he admitted that making a prequel instead of a sequel will be less pressure. He added that creating a spin-off series of “Game of Thrones”, they would have to make it special because the bar is already set high, given how great the series has fared since its first season. Bloys pointed out that if they are going to make a spin-off, they would prefer not to rush it, otherwise, he would rather not make a series follow-up at all.

“Game of Thrones” Spin-off Series Will Have New Creators?

After Bloys revealed possible plans of making a spin-off series for “Game of Thrones”, Benioff revealed at the recent SXSW Film Festival that the topic of a spin-off has been raised between him and D.B. Weiss. However, they say that they should do different things. In fact, they believe that there should be another “Game of Thrones” creator. They suggested that it should be someone new and has different visions for the show.

Benioff also revealed that the spin-off will most likely involve the characters who will survive in the “Game of Thrones” ending. Fans have expressed their disappointments if ever Benioff and Weiss are not included in the spin-off, but it’s quite understandable why they would want to move on from the project. The two showrunners have been working on it since 2011, it won’t be a surprise if they want to handle something new.
