Despicable Me 3: Gru Reunites With His Long Lost Twin Brother

Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures releases a new trailer for the upcoming Despicable Me 3, which features the reunion of Dr. Gru with his long-lost twin brother, Dru.

Illumination Entertainment has been leading the box office recently. It has been considered to be one of the most commercially successful studios in the animation business. In the past year, their focus has been on Secret Life of Pets, now, they are ready to set their focus on one of their milestone franchise, Despicable Me.

It is clear that audiences can't get enough of the Minions. However, fans also said that the film was made so special because of its heartfelt family culture.

Synopsis

Gru faces Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who grows up obsessed with the character that he played in the '80s. On the other hand, Gru gets into some rivalry when he meets his long-lost rich twin brother, Dru. The voices behind the cast inlcude Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Carell, Jenny Slate, and Julie Andrews.

Despicable Me 3 Cast and Crew

Despicable Me 3 is expected to return with Steve Carell, who gives voice to Dr. Gru, the villain turned hero of the popular animated movie, as well as his wife Lucy, voiced by Kristen Wiig.

The film has persuaded Trey Parker, co-creator, and a veteran vocal talent of South Park, to play the unsuccessful teen genius turned supervillain, Balthazar Bratt. Miranda Cosgrove also returns as Margo, Gru and Lucy's oldest adopted daughter. Dana Gaier and Russell Brand are also back. However, Nev Scharrel replaces Elsie Fisher as the young Agnes.

Behind the scenes of Despicable Me 3 also hinted a small imaginative spinoff since 2013's Despicable Me 2, with the return of co-director, Pierre Coffin, now sharing directorial responsibilities with Kyle Balda, in lieu of Chris Renaud. The Coffin/Balda directorial lineup was responsible for the success of the 2015 prequel, Minions.

Despicable Me 3 film is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2017.
