Humble Bundle: Bitcoins Now Accepted

The Humble Bundle, shining paragon of indie gaming, has announced that it will add Bitcoin digital currency as an accepted method of payment for its popular name-your-price Double Fine collection.

Customers have evidently been requesting the digital currency be added, so the company did just that.

"Buying a bundle using Bitcoins is as easy as using our other payment processors, [like] PayPal, Amazon Payments, and Google Wallet," Humble Bundle spokesperson Joshua Knoles wrote in a statement. "Simply name your price for a bundle and select 'Pay with Bitcoin' when checking out, and you'll be well on your way to playing some truly double fine Double Fine games."

According to VentureBeat, Humble Bundle will accept Bitcoin payment through an agreement with financial-services company Coinbase.

Humble Bundle sells titles like Psychonauts and Costume Quest on a sliding scale and customers can pay nearly nothing for content. While the concept might sound fiscally dubious at best, the company has grossed over $33 million since the first bundle launched in 2010. The proceeds from Humble Bundle sales are split between the company, the game developers and charities, which include the Electronic Frontier Foundation, American Red Cross and Child's Play.

Humble Bundle has added a short Bitcoin FAQ to its website, which we've reposted below.
