Mass Effect Andromeda Lead Designer Weighs In On Day One Patch, Awkward Animation

Mass Effect Andromeda has gotten a lot of mixed responses for its awkward animation and strange facial expressions. The game's lead developer has weighed in on these problems and also discussed the day one patch.

Mass Effect Andromeda Day One Update

According to GameSpot, the upcoming day one patch will not fix any of the animations or character models. Despite its widespread fan criticism, it seems like the game will still suffer these rather awkward problems. In line with this, lead designer Ian Frazier responded to a tweet asking him if the patch will improve the character models. In response, he claimed that it will not and that the "ship has sailed."

With this in mind, it seems like the changes in the patch have already been sealed as it is already integrated into the EA and Origins Access early trials. In light of this, BioWare has acknowledged the fact that the game suffers from the said flaws, as per Polygon. Because of this, the team is already trying to create a solution to the problem.

Looking Into Customization And Various Bug Fixes

Even so, Frazier has yet to announce when they will launch these updates. That aside, he also added that they are looking for a way to add more skin tones to the character creation mode. On the other hand, they are still investigating the ongoing multiplayer sound issues. Because of this, they are encouraging players to help them by reporting the problems on EA's troubleshooting page.

Similarly, BioWare is also launching a companion app for the multiplayer mode called the Apex HQ. This app will help track the player's progression in the mode and display useful information like the collected items and rewards.

While the game is still far from perfect, it is evident that BioWare is working hard to patch up the current problems. Those EA Access members can now play the first 10 hours of the game. Meanwhile, Mass Effect Andromeda will officially launch on March 21 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
