The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be announced on March 29 and it is believed that pre-orders for the highly-anticipated flagship smartphones will commence immediately after or sometime in early the following month. As for their actual availability, a recent spate of rumors indicates that the handset will be officially released in April.
ET News, a Korean online publication, reported on March 15 that the supposed sales road map of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus has been confirmed. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be launched on March 29 at the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held in New York. The Korean website mentioned that pre-orders will begin on April 7 and end on the 17th. It also said that Samsung along with three carriers will take the pre-orders.
Tech Radar reported that print advertisements have already started appearing across Asia. @UniverseIce spotted one of the posters put up by Samsung and posted it on Twitter last March 17. The poster showed the smartphone's long-rumored edge-to-edge screen along with a huge "S" in the middle. The words "Coming Soon", "Galaxy" and "2017.4" which alludes to an April release for the Galaxy S8, are printed at the bottom of the poster.
It is unclear if the supposed April 2017 release is exclusive to that particular country or in Asia. There are rumors, however, that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will drop in U.S. stores on April 28. In Canada, the pre-orders for the handsets are also supposed to be shipped starting on the same day.
The Korean conglomerate had a hard time keeping a lid on their supposedly top secret product with a number of leaks surfacing every now and then. With just over a week before the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are finally revealed, many are wondering if most of the rumored features will make it to the flagship smartphone.
