There is no getting out of prison for Spencer Reid on "Criminal Minds" season 12, and even though he got himself a friend, he will still face grave dangers behind the bars. The next episode titled "In the Dark" seemingly shows Reid caught up in another difficult situation. His BAU teammates will try to make him secured inside the jail, but a shocking revelation about Reid's ally might go down this week.
"Criminal Minds" is making Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) walk a thin line as he strives to survive inside the prison. The brain of BAU has been badly beaten the last episode as his new friend Calvin Shaw was not there with him to help him escape two vicious inmates. Following this, the upcoming episode will see the former FBI agent receive an unexpected guest through Luke Alvez who will threaten to get back at him once he learns that Reid's safety is again compromised.
Fans might have assumed that the warning roots from Luke's deep concern for his buddy. However, spoilers suggest that Luke learns the truth behind Calvin's true intention of turning himself in for a murder which he believes has a connection with Spencer Reid. It is then speculated that the BAU special agent suspects Shaw has something to do with the latest beating incident involving Reid. Should this be true, Spencer then might have placed himself closer to an enemy than an ally.
Meanwhile, the promo for "Criminal Minds" season 12, "In the Dark," also teased the BAU working on a new case involving two unsubs. The challenge will come with the team having to find out whether the two suspects are working in tandem or separately as the murders were performed at the same time and at the same city. Rossi will be seen comparing one of the unsubs to Dr. Jekyll who has a dual personality with his evil alter ego coming out after sunset.
"Criminal Minds" season 12, episode 17 will air on Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
