The highly anticipated Asus Transformer Book TX300 has finally received a U.S. release date, which for many was long overdue. The notebook tablet was already on the international market, selling in parts of Europe for a year before recently being released in Japan.
To suit the needs of people who want the portability and freedom of a tablet, yet the high-power functionality of a notebook, ASUS combines both the notebook and tablet in an all-in-one device. The 13-inch Full HD display can be removed from the keyboard dock and function as a standalone Windows 8 tablet.
Built inside the ASUS Transformer Book TX300 is Intel's powerful Ivy Bridge processor. There are two variants to choose from, either the i5 or i7 Intel core CPU along with 4GB RAM. Multi-tasking will appear seamless on the ASUS Transformer TX300, a notebook tablet hybrid built for both work and play.
Movies, games and photos are rendered in vivid clarity on the 13.3-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with IPS technology. There will be two options for storage space on the notebook portion of the TX300, potential buyers can choose from either 320GB or 500GB. On the tablet, there will be a solid-state drive (SSD) of 128GB.
We told you that the ASUS Transformer Book TX300 might see a U.S. release. This announcement comes after HP announced the release of two new hybrid notebook tablets into the market. Like ASUS, HP has found a place in the niche market of all-in-one notebook tablet devices. HP is expected to release its hybrid offerings in August with the 10.1-inch HP SlateBook x2 and the 13.3-inch HP Split x2. The ASUS Transformer Book TX300 will hit the U.S. market next week on May 21 to get a jump start on the competition. There's currently no word on pricing yet
