After months of non-stop rumors, Apple has finally launched its latest iPad model. Dubbed simply as the "iPad", the 2017 model still carries the size of last year's 9.7-inch tablet. Nevertheless, the 2017 iPad is intended to replace the older iPad Air 2 model.
Among the many changes the new iPad brings in are the A9 chipset and its thicker 7.5 mm size. Do note that the iPad Air 2 was only 6.1 mm thick. However, since the 2017 iPad has a larger 32.4 Wh battery, it was designed to be thicker than the older model. Apart from that, however, the two models are practically similar, as per GSM Arena. The new iPad still has an 8 MP rear camera with 1080p recording and a 1.2 MP front cam with 720p recording. There's also a TouchID with support for Apple Pay and a 10-hour battery life for the device.
Additional details about the 2017 iPad is its price of $329 for the 32 GB version. There's also a 128 GB model but it comes with a $429 price tag. These are for the WiFi-only units. The 32 GB cellular model is priced at $459 while the 128 GB cellular iPad 2017 model is priced at $559. The new iPad will be released in Gold, Silver, and Space Gray colors.
