Android 4.3 Release Date: Nexus 4 Getting New Jelly Bean First? (Rumor)

Google I/O has come and gone and we were expecting to see some hardware announcements and an update to Android announced at the conference. The only new hardware that was announced was the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a "Nexus user experience." Many were expecting to see Google unveil Android 4.3 and the white Nexus 4, but, as you know, that didn't happen. A new report claims to know when Google will announce both Android 4.3 and the white Nexus 4.

It is being reported that Google intentionally dropped Android 4.3 from being shown off at Google I/O 2013. Sources at Google reportedly wanted to demonstrate, "their ability to roll out new services and APIs without upgrading the Android firmware." Google did just that, but many tech enthusiasts were hoping for more. If this new rumor is true, you won't have to wait much longer for a white Nexus 4 or Android 4.3.

According to Android and Me, sources have told the site that Google will begin selling the white Nexus 4 through the Google Play Store. The white Nexus 4 will reportedly be available in the Google Play Store beginning on June 10. The white Nexus 4 will reportedly be the first smartphone to ship with Android 4.3 out of the box. It is believed that Google will also release Android 4.3 to Nexus devices like the Nexus 7, original Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and possibly some older Nexus smartphones.

Android 4.3 is expected to be a very minor update to Android, and one confirmed feature is support for Bluetooth Smart which will allow Android devices to be used with single-mode Bluetooth 4.0 devices like the just released Fitbit Flex fitness tracker. There haven't been any leaks of other features in Android 4.3 at this point. As we get closer to June, I'm sure we'll begin to hear more about its features.

If true the rumor is true, it looks like we shouldn't have too long of a wait until we see Android 4.3 and the white Nexus 4.
