Although Google didn't reveal any details about the rumored next generation Nexus 7 at this year's Google I/O, we presume it's still coming. Yesterday, in a Google+ Hangout video, Google may have given us peek at the new Nexus 7.
Google released a new video to announce and promote the new cross-platform Hangout app developed for staying connected with family and friends.
The video features what looks like an ordinary Nexus 7 tablet, but it may not be. As Ausdroid reported, speculation began when a Twitter user noticed something different about the Nexus 7 shown in the Google+ Hangout video. A blinking notification LED lit up on the tablet, something that the first Nexus 7 doesn't have.
Users who have ever owned other Nexus series devices such as the Nexus One, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 are familiar with the multicolor notification LED. Unfortunately, the original Nexus 7 did not have this multicolor RGB notification LED, but the video suggests that the newest Nexus 7 will. If the featured tablet in the video is the new Nexus, the notification LED is a good selling point.
Other rumors about the new Nexus 7 allege that it has a fill HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and Qualcomm's Snapdragon CPU. It's also said to feature the upcoming Android 4.3 OS or maybe even Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Rumors also allege that the new Nexus 7 is coming in just a few months with a release date set for July.
The quick glimpse of the LED notification popping up on the Nexus 7 tablet in the Hangout app video occurs at around 20 seconds into the video. Let us know if you think this could be the new Nexus 7 or Nexus 7 MK II as some call it. Do you think Google may have accidently leaked it?
