Star Wars Battlefront 2 Officially Announced
EA has finally made the announcement of the highly awaited sequel to the first Battlefront game, as per Game Rant. They stated that the first official trailer will be arriving on April 15 at 2:30 PM / 11:30 AM ET. Moreover, they will showcase the teaser in the Star Wars Celebration event which will be held in Florida. There will be a special "The Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront II" panel, which fans can stream online.
Meanwhile, Polygon reports that several attendees will include the game's development team from the three EA studios, which include Motive, Criterion and DICE. With this in mind, fans should expect more information to be revealed on the said date. As of now, the company has yet to share any finer details about the upcoming sequel.
Possible New Features In The Sequel
In spite of this, EA has been rather vocal in the past regarding the changes they would like to include for the sequel. Firstly, it is already confirmed that it will include a single-player campaign and has content spanning from the film's history. Similarly, it was even teased that is will have a lot of new characters including those from Episode 7 ad even possibly Episode 8.
Incidentally, some of the features from the first game will not make it to the sequel. In line with this, DICE's associate design director Dennis Brännvall confirmed that the upcoming title will not include the Conquest game mode. Nevertheless, it still seems like Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be much bigger than its predecessor with the launch window of fall 2017.
