"Criminal Minds" season 12 might end in an explosive way as Shemar Moore is coming back on the finale to step in Derek Morgan's shoes once again. The American actor recently sat down for an interview where he teased the role he will play on the season ender. He also left a piece of hope to fans as he opened the possibility of returning in a yet theoretical season 13.
Shemar Moore's return on "Criminal Minds" was announced by CBS earlier this month and a fraction of fans are indeed thrilled to see Derek Morgan back with his baby girl, Penelope Garcia. The 46-year-old actor left crime flick a year ago where he expressed his desire to discover other opportunities. Although he has been a part of some projects outside "Criminal Minds," Shemar Moore seems to have love left for the drama as he is reprising his role but only as a guest star, at least for now.
Moore recently appeared in an interview to talk about his much-awaited appearance on "Criminal Minds" season 12 finale which will air on May 10. The actor said that he missed the show and professed how blessed he was to be with the show for 11 long years. He even mentioned about "flirting" with his "baby girl." He also continued to share his life away from his "Criminal Minds" family saying he did not regret the decision he made last year which he said has allowed him to accomplish things.
After which, Shemar Moore teased the finale saying that he will come home to his BAU family with some "pertinent information that is going to help the team deal with Scratch -- the bad guy." He also teased his reunion with Penelope Garcia but did not drop specific details which might spoil the excitement of his fans.
Following his guest appearance on "Criminal Minds," many fans are wondering whether he will stay around with the team should the series be renewed for another season. He then said that he is open to a whole season on the CBS series and cites how the show was wise not to kill his character when he left as he can always come back to bring life to Derek Morgan.
"In my heart, I'm open to that. Of course, of course, of course. In my heart, yes," Shemar Moore said in his interview with ET. "But there's a thing called the business of Hollywood, so there's a lot of politics and there's a lot of important, fancy people that make those decisions," he continued. "Derek Morgan is not dead and I will tease you this: Derek Morgan does not die in the finale, how about that?"
