Elon Musk Has An Easter Egg Surprise In New Tesla Update

Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, surprises owners of Model S and Model X vehicles with an easter egg in the latest vehicle V8.1 software update. In a long line of fun secrets, Musk revealed on Twitter that if you tap the T on the center screen three times, a sketchpad will appear for art-savvy riders. Owners can even send the sketches to Tesla if they are confident enough to show their art.

Once downloaded, the 8.1 software version lets owners try out the new feature by tapping the "T" on the car's center screen three times. Where there is normally the entire infotainment, navigation and climate controls, the screen turns white after the tappings are done. Users can select marker, pen, or eraser, as well as a color wheel to start unleashing their creative potentials.

Elon Musk revealed the easter egg surprise himself, just in time for the Easter Holiday, as he posted his creations on Twitter Wednesday evening. His artworks earned several delighted remarks and giggles from some of his avid tech followers when he posted a colorful drawing of a farting unicorn with a caption that it is the magical resource that is powering Tesla vehicles. According to Fortune, he also doodled his own version of the Mona Lisa using the vehicle's sketchpad.

Some Tesla owners did find the new surprise feature entertaining, especially the prompts that appear once a drawing is complete. Before hitting the publish button, users are asked if they want Tesla to critique their artistic masterpiece. Two other prompts come up in which users have to select their choice such as "Yes, I'm an Artist!" or "No, the world isn't ready for my art".

This is not the first time Tesla's Elon Musk hid easter egg surprises on the software updates. According to Motor 1, back in December, a video showed Model X's interior lights illuminate playfully to the tune of “Wizards in Winter” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in the background. The latest software update began rolling out on Wednesday to vehicles in North America.
