Lenovo announced the Moto G5 Plus alongside the Moto G5 at MWC 2017. The Moto G series has always been a great value, combining great Android software with decent-enough hardware. The Moto G5 Plus is a slightly compact device with more rounded lines and feels comfortable in hand. The back of this device is made of aluminum, with edges made of a material that combines metal and plastic. The display is one of the best things about this phone. It features a 1080p IPS LCD panel with flawless viewing angles. Moreover, the Moto G5 Plus ships from the factory running the latest software, Android 7.0 Nougat without many customizations.
Compared with the previous generation, the Moto G's processor went from a Snapdragon 617 to the Snapdragon 625. This is the same processor as in the Moto Z Play which will give users more optimized performance. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a new physical button on the front, which functions as a biometric sensor, the home button and also responds to gestures and a decent battery life capacity. The G5 Plus has been available in the US for pre-orders since March 24 with 32 GB internal storage and 2 GB of RAM. Pre-order devices are expected to ship on April 11. The US version will not have NFC, which means without Android Pay. The color choices are limited, and you'll be able to choose between either Lunar Gray or the Fine Gold. Through Amazon Prime Exclusive programs, Moto G5 Plus is available for a pre-order ad-supported version for only $189.99.
The phone comeswith a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The Motorola Moto G5 Plus is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM. The phone is equipped with 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. More so, the Motorola Moto G5 Plus sports a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front snapper for selfies. Under the hood is 3000mAh nonremovable battery.
The Moto G5 Plus is arguably an all-rounder smartphone everyone has been waiting and hoping for from Lenovo-Motorola this year. The camera is superb, performance is great plus it runs the latest software. More importantly, there's nothing else that comes close to its affordable price.
