This month kicked off with the yearly April Fool’s Day but no one thought Adult Swim would ever pull a prank that would excite fans. Apparently, the said network surprisingly aired the first official episode of “Rick and Morty” Season 3.
Adult Swim’s April 1 Surprise; New Episodes Air In Summer?
Adult Swim has done it again and for its April Fool’s prank, it aired the first episode of “Rick and Morty” Season 3. However, the catch was it was actually the real and official episode. It was deemed a prank because there were no prior reports or announcements from them that “Rick and Morty” will be airing a new season anytime soon.
The said episode was aired unannounced, replayed the whole day of April 1, and was even simulcasted on the official website of Adult Swim. Another catch is fans will have to wait a little longer to see more of “Rick and Morty” Season 3. It has been revealed that though Episode 1 has been finally aired, the rest of the new episodes from the third season will be aired sometime this year. Adult Swim has yet to reveal the official date but details on the second episode already revealed that it will be written by Jane Becker and it has been titled, “Rickmancing the Stone”.
“Rick and Morty” Season 3 Episode 1 Review
The said adult animated show made its debut in December 2013 and it has already gained millions of fans because of its humor and originality. The first episode of the third season was created by Juan Meza-Leon and Mike McMahan and it was titled “The Rickshank Redemption”. The new episode reveals Summer’s determination to rescue Rick after the Federation has colonized Earth.
However, when they realized that Rick is being held hostage by the Federation, they decided to kill Rick instead so the Federation won’t get their hands on Rick’s secrets. The new episode was a treat to fans because Rick appears once again in the show. Aside from that, fans are happy that Summer’s love for her grandfather was shown again in the show, even revealing how much of an awesome character she is.
