Amazon Cash Lets You Shop Without Bank Cards--Here's How

Amazon launches its newest shopping service named Amazon Cash on Monday. It allows buyers to check out items with the use of cash rather than the usual use of bank cards. By showing a barcode to the cashier, buyers can add cash to their Amazon.com balance, then have the cash applied right away to their online account.

The latest shopping scheme is designed as a great option for shoppers who feel more comfortable, or have no other option except to use cash to purchase their desired items. There will no longer be the need to link their debit or credit card to the online service. This latest marketing strategy opens a potentially new market for the online retail giant which includes people who've held out on using Amazon for fear their bank cards might get compromised by hackers.

The way to use Amazon Cash involves a series of short, easy steps that will allow interested shoppers to add any amount between $15 and $500 in a single transaction. According to the CNBC, all you need to do is first visit a special Amazon website called Amazon Cash Site. Find and tap the yellow box that says "Get your barcode".

Next, wait for Amazon to send a barcode to your smartphone, which will shortly arrive in a text. Then you can choose to print the barcode just in case you want to carry it around in your pocket or wallet. Now that you have the barcode, you can basically use your smartphone to use it to buy some items in any retailer, like CVS, that supports the shopping company.

Present your Amazon Cash barcode, from your phone or from the printout, to the cashier and let them know you want to use cash. The cashier will scan the barcode, and you'll immediately receive Amazon Gift Card online, which you can use to buy goods from ebooks to groceries and other things. According to TechCrunch, unlike other prepaid cards on the market, you don't need to pay any fees for the service, which is another advantage of using it.
