BBC1's hit drama "Poldark" was confirmed to premiere earlier this year compared to the release of its season 2 in 2016. A representative from the network recently broke the news but also clarified the rumor that's been hiding behind the earlier release. Also, Aidan Turner gave his share of good news about the flick saying that fans might possibly see another season of "Poldark" after the upcoming installment.
Actor Aidan Turner who plays Ross Poldark in the popular British-American drama "Poldark" guested in Dave Fanning's RTE Radio program where he dropped a few details about the show. The host asked the star about the whereabouts of Turner where the actor revealed that he is in Los Angeles to take a break and spilled about "wraps" on "Poldark."
Fanning then clarified what Turner meant about the "wraps" and asked him whether it pertains to another season currently on the works. The Irish actor then said that it is possible for BBC to agree with another season but he cannot speak more about it by comically saying: "The BBC will have my head but it is not official I suppose. It is looking likely."
Meanwhile, fans of "Poldark" may not have to wait for too long as the third season is reportedly coming this June on BBC. The network has however clarified the rumor about avoiding a clash with ITV's "Victoria," saying the production of the installment started earlier compared to the second season which is why they can also release it in advance.
It was previously rumored that BBC is avoiding a likely clash with another drama "Victoria." It can be recalled that the previous installment of the two shows aired simultaneously last year which is said to split the audience. "Poldark" season 2 then suffered from fall in its viewer population where its season 1 had over eight million viewers while season 2 only had over six million audiences. Rumors then started to swirl that BBC is thinking of airing "Poldark" season 3 ahead of "Victoria" to gain back the viewers it lost last year.
"Poldark" season 3 was included in BBC's summer lineup, but the exact premiere date of the installment is yet to be announced. The filming of the show reportedly started last September which is said to be earlier that season 2's production. It was also revealed that "Poldark" season 3 needed a better weather for its new episodes, hence doing it in September.
