SEGA fans are in for a surprise as the company seemingly teased an upcoming Bayonetta game. With the highly successful Bayonetta 2, are the developers planning to unveil Bayonetta 3?
SEGA and its developers have launched a site countdown, which hinted the unveiling of a possible Bayonetta game. The site can be accessed here and the date sets off at 12 pm ET on April 11. But what is actually being teased here? Is it the highly anticipated Bayonetta 3? Well, it could be. But many fans from Reddit think otherwise especially as the game pointed out to be released on PC.
It is important to note that with the release of the Nintendo Switch, the developers are definitely going to release the next installment of the Bayonetta franchise on the said platform in order to bolster its own product. Thus, many argue that despite the official teaser, it is highly unlikely that it will be a Bayonetta 3 but rather, the porting of an old title to the PC platform.
However, some players also pointed out that during the E3 event of last year, the game's lead designer, Hideki Kamiya, has expressed his interest in a possible sequel - stating that he has been thinking a lot about Bayonetta 3. During an interview, Kamiya said "we've talked a lot about it internally at the company and I've written some outlines for what the game would be. And I feel really confident it would be cool if we get the chance to make it."
As of the time of this writing, SEGA has not released any leads regarding the rumors and theories of possible Bayonetta 3 on PC or Nintendo Switch. The only hint that the developers have shown is the release of the 8-Bit Bayonetta on Steam entirely for free. Check back for more Bayonetta news and updates!
