The SwitchCharge might be the very first Nintendo Switch Case that can provide the hybrid console with up to 12 hours of battery life. The project is still underfunding and is planned to be released later this year.
Nintendo Switch Battery Life Solution?
Nintendo's latest console allows players to seamlessly switch between the TV when they want to play on the big screen or a tablet if they prefer to travel or bring the unit around the house. While the idea itself seems quite innovative, one major problem lies with the tablet's battery life, which lasts only around three to five hours. This presents a problem during traveling, as players would still need to bring around a specific type of battery pack.
Luckily, some people are already working on a much easier solution to this problem. InDemand Design has posted its battery case project for the Switch on Indiegogo. This certain accessory easily fits on the console and provides up to 12 more hours of battery life.
The Other Useful SwitchCharge Features
This is not the only useful feature the case can do as it also comes with its own dynamic stand, which allows players to charge during tabletop mode. Moreover, the case also has two slots for game cartridges so fans always have extra options to choose from when traveling.
The Verge shares that it also has its own Micro USB port that is used to charge the case itself. However, the biggest nitpick of the case lies with the price, as consumers would need to drop $75 as its early-bird price. Meanwhile, InDemand Design plans on selling it for $130 if it reaches retail which seems to be overpriced for a 12,000mAh battery pack.
Nevertheless, it will surely be worth the price if the SwitchCharge manages to deliver properly. This will also possibly be a breakthrough for the Nintendo Switch and act as a potential fix for its battery life.
